The Royal Hotel Restaurants

The grand old Royal hotel is located in Riebeek Kasteel, the village forming together with Hermon and Riebeek West the picturesque and tranquil Riebeek Valley and part of the Wineland route. The Royal Hotel is the oldest hotel of the Western Cape and offers the most beautiful and most luxurious accommodation in Riebeek Kasteel, and the Swartland for that matter.

The Royal Restaurant
Stemming from 150 years of history we have designed our menu to accommodate classics but also bring in modern dishes. Serving breakfast (8:00 – 10:30), lunch (12:00 – 16:00) and dinner (from 18:00) we serve all palates from fresh West coast seafood to local beef and free range chicken.

De Stoep
Enjoy a lazy lunch on our famous ‘longest stoep South of the Limpopo’ or book your dinner in our original 1862 bar dining room. Should you prefer to have a light lunch or dinner, we highly recommend one of our platters while sipping on a Gin & Tonic from our Gin collection.

Au Bouchon Rouge Brasserie
Although living and cooking in SA for many years Parisian chef Julien Debray never lost his passion for the cuisine he grew up with. Now the time has come to share that passion with you. Here we don’t do what’s fashionable. Here we just do what we do. Serving French comfort food made with fresh, local, seasonal and organic produce. Come and join us for lunch and on some days for dinner. We will have something for everyone’s liking but don’t look for a burger, Bobotie or pizza on our menu. We are a French Brasserie after all. Our brasserie is located next to the hotel.

High Tea
Feel like royalty with our High Tea experience at The Royal Hotel. Indulge in French pastries, delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and other delicious eats with a cup of tea, a glass of MCC or a G&T. High Tea is available on Saturdays at 3pm (Please book 48hours in advance)
